>>51531116>Is this better in gen8? I see it's a battle tower reward in bdsp, which might be more easy to get consistently.Yeah I guess bottle caps & hypertraining could still be considered a bottleneck, but they're still fairly quick to farm in SWSH since the battle tower has zero restricted pokemon and only a handful of trainers dynamax. I think you get ~120 BP from getting to master ball tier for singles, and another ~120 for doubles, then 2 BP every win. Singles are super easy and some of the rental teams are pretty good so you don't even need to prep for it. If you're just trying to rack up BP as quickly as possible, single battles with Zacian are a breeze.
Online ranked gives pretty sizable BP rewards too. If you have the DLC, restricted sparring can be kind of tough and requires intentional team building but you get 3 BP per win and 20 BP every fifth win in a row. There's an in-game challenge for getting a 5 win streak for each of the 18 types which nets you around 1100 BP.
>Not to mention it'd take a bit long to level to 100 anyway.A previous anon already pointed out how broken EXP candies are. Also Poke Jobs and date skipping make it a breeze as well.
I forgot to mention PP Ups & MAxes earlier. Lotto ID and data skipping in SWSH make it super easy to farm up these items for comp too. Although having a 32 boxes of different trainer IDs is ideal.
Imo, you're right in the sense that breeding for 5IVs/6IVs is still the way to go and it's what I personally do, but it is easier to train up shinies and legendaries nowadays. I'd rather farm restricted sparring for BP than soft reset for a perfect legendary (aside from mons which benefit from 0 IV stats like Ice Rider/Glastrier)
