>>51584312Spinda always being near a volcano will always be an interesting quirk about the Pokemon.
Although in regions in which a Volcano does not exist, they commonly substitute the location with something that's either really tall or hot.
>Dessert Safari>Mountain Passage>Sprite/Bell/Burned Tower>ETCHell, even the special trade with the lost xtransceiver trainer in B2/W2 trades you Spinda holding a Lava Cookie!
(Of course, this glosses over the fact that every Pokemon traded to you will be holding the special food of that Pokemon's home region, but Spinda just so happened to be one of them.)
Its just a bit of a headcanon, but maybe its the vertigo commonly experienced from acrophobia in play here. Add some volcanic fumes or smoke and you are in for a dizzy time.
Another theory of mine involves the spots, as depicted in this post...
>>51570349The common "Drunk Salary Man" imagery has always been associated with Spinda in some way, and the little spots commonly seen floating around the head of someone intoxicated in Japanese media really pushes that home for me as possibly an inspiration for the different spot patterns.
