You'd think people would accept it due to the severe lack of promotional fare. Scarlet and Violet are close to release and there's still nothing about a new adaptation or even a promotion for Ash visiting Paldea for just a few episodes.

Literally never stopped them before. The new Gen series is always annouced a month or 2 beforehand because advertising is a thing. Like how this series was announced while the Alola League was still ongoing.

Is it that bad? I stopped watching Yugioh after GX brought in that space dolphin dude, so I have no idea what's going on now.

Vrains was plagued by production issues. We're talking a clip show every 10 episodes multiple times in season 1 as early as episode 10. It ended earlier than previous Yu-Gi-Oh series and was the last time that studio, who had worked on YGO since the original series, worked on it.
Now the Rush show is done by a new studio.
