Why do people still use Pocket Monsters: The Animation as canon? There’s a reason why that shit only has 2 books and this was when he was still working on the damn show. Hell the 2nd episode confirms that Ash’s dad and grandpa were great trainers, we know Brock doesn’t have 19 siblings and multiple step fathers and his Mom still lives with them. Hell Pallet Town isn’t even a shit hole it’s just the the boonies and most people who go there is to see Professor Oak just to get their Pokédex and starter Pokémon.

It's interesting but it isn't substantial. It just exists for the sake of existing. If you want to bring up his ideas about how Pokemon came about and their feelings towards humans then I think that's the only idea of his that has any merit.

Nah Netflix would go the Paul W.S. Anderson route and Pokémon would be sucked into the human world. But each trainer would only have one or two Pokémon each and it's basically Digimon in reverse, except not as good.

It does have some interesting worldbuilding, but I feel it wallows a tad too much in the edgy side. Like having a parent from pallet town be derelict/negilgent to their kid, obviously not ash or garys parents, could easily have been a good story moment to work with.

Yeah, the darker aspects in episodes can be fine, but they need to be handled with care as you risk going from grimdark to grimdork. Its like salt, a bit is fine your meal, too much and you ruin the dish.
