>>51756897>Ignoring your mistakes, you just admitted that your arguments hold no water. You proved my point that Japan is fine with this.I'm not sure how you failed to see the argument.
First of all, nowhere it implies, indirectly, that japan was ok with this. They might have wanted to change it but the monetary an administrative requirements most likely weighted it and they decided to leave it. After all, Japan market is tiny compared to combined West.
Secondly, I dab deeply into gamedev and the industry. What I said isnt made up shit, the amount of crap you have to put up even with known publisher just to do changes to product on a platform is insane.
> You are responding in reference to the Japanese text, not the English one. They changed the English localization.Yes, they noticed it after the fact and made change where it made sense after they have weighted in pros and cons. What the issue?
> Japan makes more porn about Pokemon than the west does. That is actually not true. Overall western mass in porn is way higher. Especially human porn.
>>51756918> No, they changed it as Nintendo of America are a bunch of puritanical bastards, I didnt disagree with that, we werent arguing english one but rather Japanese original.
>>51756785Has anyone actually looked into this properly besides 2 random guy on the interweb so far? If you ever had any experience in localization, then you know that as a translator you have 2 hard choices to make:
1. direct but correct translation
2. adaptation
(3. mix of both but ca end up real bad)
The english version in her seems to tried to approximate meaning. "Ate at the same table" is an expression essentially meaning "being on the same level as equals, respecting each other equally". I dont know Japanese, but could be that original was also a wordplay too? Any actual japanese-speaking chads looked into it for possible references? May be marriage does not have direct meaning but rather some japanese-specific one.
