tl;dr version: It will be banned on all Smogon formats and people in VGC will bitch about it until it gets banned from there too

In the games Terastal is used by NPCs in the dumbest way possible so players might to immediatly realize the implications of this mechanic, but in actual competitive environments this is busted beyond belief, worse than Dynamax in my opinion.

Dynamax only lasted 3 turns and what happened in practice 90% of the time was that you counter-Dynamaxed to stop the opponent from sweeping your team with their own Dynamax, since unless you were a retard you could guess the designated Dynamax sweeper from team preview and plan ahead of time.

What Terastal does in practice is replacing a pokemon with another one that plays the same role but gets insane offensive boosts from multiple STABs, including a supower-powered one.
What makes it busted is that it persists even after switching out. If it was just for 3 turns like Dynamax it would actually be balanced.
Tera Blast being Hidden Power on steroids is also a problem and basically turns every matchup into a 50/50 because now knowing what coverage mons usually run means jack shit.

I expect this mechanic to be banned within a month on Smogon and to be banned on VGC after the first one. The dislike Dynamax received will be nothing compared to this.
