It's fucking amazing how bad Journeys is that it made a dream match like Ash vs Cynthia turn out underwhelming and forgettable as hell in the long-run.

But I agree I find it insane how know one talks about this shit, it's not even in many Top 10 anime battles which is fucking ludicrous. A battle between Ash vs Cynthia should at least be Top 3

Fights have expiration dates. Ash vs Cynthia missed it's window years ago. It is like when there is a dream matchup between two boxers only the fight happens well after their prime.

They literally only interacted in 2 episodes prior to the league.

In both cases it was only half of the episode and it was only focused on battling. Ash unironically had a better, more fleshed out rivalry with Morrison in the Hoenn league than with Alain

She barely appeared in BW despite hyping her return so much. Her biggest role was getting curbstomped by the cloud trio

Cynthia had more screentime, but Leon's screentime was actually important
