SwSh still sucks major ass, its only redeeming quality is the ost, other than that it's unsalvageable. SV, despite buggy and ugly, are exceedingly better games, it's not even a competition.

Gen 9 is way better than 8. I played through the entire thing and did everything single thing in SWSH and I can tell you it's nowhere near SV. I do thing gen 8 had a better soundtrack and the game doesn't have constant glitches and bugs. The region and Pokémon were overall disappointing minus a few outliers. It had the absolute worst starters aswell. Gen 9's water final evo is horrible but the other 2 a great. The CROC is probably one of the best start designs period.

SwSh and SV are both the worst but for different reasons. UsUm was the last COMPLETE Pokemon game but even then it was not good.

The last good Pokemon games were either in Gen 4 or 5.

Everything past gen 5 has been lazy dogshit. The transition into 3D was a curse and it made the fanbase complacent with half-baked games. The only good thing to come out of this was Nessa. Marnie is overrated btw.

People act like there's this Pokemon cycle but XY was never redeemed, three generations later. SM might've been, but whether or not people come around to SV, I can't imagine that SwSh will ever be vindicated to people.

Paldea at least feels like a backyard and not a disney ride, the starters aren’t all complete shit, each gym leader looks unique instead of everyone wearing the same Fifa uniform, the new mons outclass Galar’s by miles, and the story was far more entertaining. Both still rank far below the king of the 3D era that is Kalos but 9 is easily better than 8.
