I came back after 20+ years just to watch this shit. All I wanted were well animated battles and couldn't even get that. I dropped after Alain vs Diantha, didn't even give a shit anymore by Ash Cynthia.
I thought that since this was the single biggest moment in it's history, they would've tried to make something worthwhile. I've seen clips from the Kalos season, I know they are better than whatever this garbage was.

Lesson learned I will go right back to never watching this show ever again. I shouldn't have wasted my time.

Nah this fight was great. But it could have been better. Production issues were really obvious but I’m still satisfied with it.

Its fucking worthless outside of some fancy visuals at the start; thats not just "production issues".
The contrived linking ash and cynthia thing is dumb, all the cynthia flashbacks were blatantly to fish for viewers in the magazines. And they had that dumb "I'm quitting" to add another layer of viewer fishing.

All this for a fight that completely devolves into nonsense by the end. The fight wasn't even that good at the start and it became progressively worse and worse.

They didn't hype it up for years
Ash said he wanted to battle her only once in the last episode of DP and then never again. He could've challenged Cynthia any time during BW but he didn't because he simply didn't care
