>>52584272Thats what will forever be a dissapointment for me with this franchise, the amusement park, game mechanics focused world instead of the cool shit stuff like the dex mentions. Arceus is the closest thing we've ever gotten to showing the conflicts between these non humans and us trying to coexist, minus legendary stuff. Like sure it makes sense having the animal types being domesticated and trained like real-world equivalents and same extends to the more fantastical monsters that are still beasts, but the thing ive always disliked is how clearly sapient, sentient races and stuff like spirits are just treated in the same way as pets. It would be far more interesting, atleast to me, that you would need to form pacts or something with these more intelligent ones instead of just ball stuffing. Really put that friendship mechanics shit to work with the long term trade off being more specialized mons instead of brute force animal intelligence domesticated ones. Its why i could never buy stuff in the lore that may imply humans are somehow descended from a same origin species as mons or "all pokemon shrink" logic. Makes everything more game logicy, humans feel out of place in this universe and everything feels less deep all around. I both enjoy and hate the world of these games.
