>>52624629I think I overall prefer the way SV looks too. The point about the environment feeling more full is a big point for myself personally-- SV did an alright job at making it feel somewhat natural, instead of like a hand full of assets copy pasted over a flat, empty, human made environment like in SwSh's Wild Areas. There's some chaos in SV's world, unevenness, little nooks and crannys that dont all serve an explicit purpose.
While neither are as shit as SwSh's Wild Area's, PLA didn't have the same breadth in that respect as SV, and had some areas that were PARTICULARLY bad. The volcano in PLA really stands out to me, as it just looks so unnatural, like a child's idea of what a volcano is. While it's not a Volcano, Glaseado Mountain as a mountain formation is fucking miles ahead of that shitty volcano island. Its not just a small conical land mass, its a proper undulating mountain range, even complete with semi logical river formations.
These issues stick out in PLA more given how much smaller the total land mass is. This SHOULD have been a point in PLA's favor.

>Pic relatedI dont remember the terminology for it, but that pic highlights the grass issue. PLA didn't map the blending of the base of the grass to its environment, so it stuck out a lot and looked oddly "glowly", like you can tell it doesnt fit the surroundings. SV mapped it more properly, so the grass blends from the ground type its on and fades into its proper color. Looks way better.
>>52624642This is a weird point here. Both games actually have this issue, but SV seems oddly inconsistent about it. Most times the repeating textures arent so bad and not distractingly obvious, but then you get shit like your pic.
