Realistically she should have EQ (banned in anime) or other Ground/Fire moves (she had them in DP, but not here), which all deal SE dmg to Lucario and should KO it quickly. But SE dmg is also plot based in anime

You could argue that they were too weak to use their ranged attacks anymore, specially Draco Meteor with how hax it's been portrayed in the anime, but the fight did a super terrible job at portraying their supposed tiredness and damage.

Thanks anons i should gor the replies. I just feel so disdapointed that with all the tactical strategies she used in the first episode. She just spammed 3 x max airstreams and a sky sttack. Yeah. All in all Ash's real final battle was against her and not Leon. He deserved that win, but he absolutely didn't deserve the one against Leon. The absolute beast just swept everyone he was up against with fucking ease.
He would absolutely wreck Cynthia's shit in btw and you are an absolutely delusional simp if you believe otherwise.
She wouldn't get fucked as hard as Diantha but it would be much less close that her battle with Ash.
Cynthia is good but Cinderace, Dragapult and Rillaboom are all Garchomp-tier. (Cinderace is a little bit weaker but libero is fucking overpowered and makes up for it) and that's not even counting Charizard obviously.

Yeah, I really felt that Cynthia's flashbacks were a beautiful tribute to the franchise as a whole. And it's neat that it's a cool reference to the original trio, like Misty fishing and all the times they took refuge in caves and so on. But there it is-- that was really it, a look back on the beginning of a trainer's journey right at the end of Ash's

And yes, it was so much better-- it was a lot more meaningful. I feel like the soul of Ash's journey was in that battle. And that fight really mattered for both of them, I love that its message was that there is always more to learn and to keep moving forward

Animation was the same in all M8 battles, except those 3 minutes of Pikachu vs Zard at the very end.
Spiritomb alone easily makes Ash vs Cynthia the best M8 battle.
and Pikachu (the main ace) getting taken out so early is probably the only somewhat "shocking" moment in the entire tournament, if not season.
Leon vs Ash was completely predictable and boring from start to the end and ended exactly as everyone said it would.
