Lillie looks nothing like the new mc. She also never had a thing with Ash. Serena just had the most set up. The new MC shares her eye color and she has Serena's mom's eyeshape. Serena only had the most setup because one of the writers made Ash his self-insert and wanted her as his own waifu. Ash ending up with Misty is the best outcome for the series as a whole since she was his first companion.
