The battles in SV feel so fucking sluggish. Is there a reason why they're like this, can't just be because of performance issues surely?
I mean it's odd that the raid battles (offline solo) seem to run smooth like silk when the above is a jarring issue.
Seriously, go battle some random 1 Pokémon trainer battle then go to any offline raid event.
Legitimately the first time I've ever wanted; and couldn't; to turn off battles animations in a Pokémon game.
When it comes to battle I think it's because everything happens 1 step at a time and it always waits until the text has stopped displaying before finished before moving on. For example with burn condition damage.
How it is:
>burn damage animation
>health goes down
>Pokémon was hurt by burn
>wait for text to finish
How it should be:
>Burn animation, text pop-ups explaining the Pokémon was hurt by the burn whilst simultaneously it's health goes down
>Wait for all to finish
It feels like this was the priority in making the game:
1. Raid battles
2. Auto battles (Even those feel sluggish.)
3. Normal battles
Has the code for SV been leaked anywhere? I'd love to analyse the SM and GSC-tier terrible coding.
