- A total of 14 Pokémon Designers were responsible for the Pokémon designs in SV, 5 women and 9 men.
- There are 3 newcomers who have never designed Pokémon before.
- One of the newcomers is Kazuyuki Kurashima (designed Greavard and Houndstone), he is a Super Mario RPG character designer.
- Another newcomer is Mari Shimazaki, who is one of the main designers for Bayonetta.
- Tomohiro Kitakaze (designed Venipede line, Mega Charizard X and more) has started designing Pokémon again after not having been a Pokémon Designer since Pokémon X and Y.
- Takao Unno (designer since Generation 3) and Yusuke Ohmura (designer since Generation 4) didn't design any Pokémon this time.
