At that level, franchises genuinely form strategies around getting people literally addicted to their product and if they can make them mentally ill and give them OCD or something, that's even better, because it means they get more money. Seriously, look it up. There's entire marketing strategies that revolve around taking advantage of people's mental problems or even straight up creating them, well if you consider addictions as mental illnesses that is (which, to me, they are)
