>>52884592>It's balanced to be easy. From a game design standpoint, that's an even bigger problem. Not challenging the children by treating them like illiterate retards with "your free win, sir" tier difficulty does nothing to encourage kids to strategize and learn to think about how to overcome obstacles in their path. The Pokemon games were always easy, but they were never this hand-holdy until gen 5 (and the problem only became exponentially worse from gen 6 onwards).
Kids aren't stupid, but modern Pokemon acts like they are and need to be lead not by the hand, but on a leash (most noticeable in Sword/Shield) as they're dragged through a theme park with rides that cost nothing and games you literally can't lose. The fact that none of it even comes close to preparing players for the multiplayer is also bad game design in general. They'll just go online and get their ass kicked repeatedly, and because the game coddled them through the entire single-player experience they will immediately blame the game instead of considering how to improve themselves. The ultimate result is the kind of shithead pre-teen salt dispenser you'd meet in your average Overwatch or Leage of Legends match.
People don't think about the long term psychological consequences "easy mode" games have on kids.
>>52884739Anon, come on. Kirby is one of the easiest platformers on the market. The only real challenge comes from post-game stuff, which Pokemon has the same problem from.
