Your team already looks quite solid. Valiant is just about the only special nuke in the tier. You could try Armarouge but it'll suck balls. You could also consider spicing it up with Cinderace. If you want to be truly epic, you could try out Iron Moth with Acid Spray - I've been toying around with it, it's kinda cheesey but it suddenly has 0 switchins and you keep getting fiery dance boosts

I see a few things happening with these three gone.

>Fat shit gets better because 2 of the best stallbreakers in the tier just disappeared, so semi-stall and balance get a massive buff. Full stall is still dogshit

Goomy learns Shelter in PLA but not in SV. Since apparently you can't transfer moves that the species can't learn anymore, this stops Kalosian Sliggoo and Goodra from learning Shelter. I originally thought they removed it for no reason. Not that it really matters competitively.

Such as?
Flutter Mane? 55.52% usage in Uber. Higher than Miraidon.
Chi-Yu? 23.06% usage.
Iron Bundle? 21.59% usage.
Palafin? 10.79% usage.
Houndstone? 8.86% usage.
Annihilape? 8.21% usage.
Keep in mind that 4.52% usage in OU is the cutoff before dropping to UU, so all of those mons are doing pretty well in Uber.
The only Uber right now that isn't above the cutoff point is Cyclizar (2.15% usage).
Unless you're saying that a new tier should be made specifically just for Cyclizar, I'm not sure what your argument is.

Chien-Pao still not getting quickbanned is puzzling.
That thing ravages higher tiers like ubers and NatDex, OU is nothing in comparison.
With Tera Fire/Electric it has zero counters.

Only Annihilape and BU Palafin can be considered soft checks. The rest are shitty revengekillers that simply lose if in Sucker Punch range (this includes Choiced Palafin). Chi-Yu just loses if it's not scarfed which was its least common and threatening set.

Is it me or are there way more Skeledirge roaming around now?
I'm stuck at 1600, and he is very annoying, cause way too versatile. They even started to give it spe.def investment and substitute.
Aside from Unaware Clodsire and Toxapex (that I don't want to use cause too passive), who can deal with Skeledirge?

I’m putting together a Trick Room team for Ranked and I’m painfully aware of my crippling Dark and Ground weaknesses. Right now the team is:

>Indeedee-F
>Kingambit
>Dondozo
>Garganacl
>Nor sure (currently using Slowbro)
Any ideas on who I can change around? Armarouge is 100% staying because I found a shiny one with a Mark and therefor Indeedee has to stay too, but I’m not overly attached to anyone else. One idea I had was to use a Rotom form holding a Power item with Trick in case I don’t end up using TR, but that’s about all I can think of.

Is there a way to change a Pokémon’s size? Asking because I have an Ursaring, Salamence and Zapdos from Gale of Darkness whose sole purpose has been to acquire as many ribbons onto them as possible. Gotten all of the Gen VI ones and am about to send them onto Gen VII.

They always had it out for Annilape and were going to keep pretending like he's a problem so they can justify banning him.

Funny how they arbitrarily decided to quickban things the MOMENT after a tera suspect test. They know that letting us do a suspect test on these mons will result in Cliclizar and Annilipae not getting banned. So they just quickban them themselves

Acid Spray physically defensive Goodra can defeat Skeledirge or Dondozo in 1v1 using Muddy Water or Thunderbolt respectively. It doesn't beat Clodsire though, at least not in a very safe way since it costs too much health staying on multiple STAB EQs. I'm still going to figure out a physical defensive Goodra set that 1v1s the entire tier

garc is important for stall. if garc becomes a problem they won't ban him but instead nerf him somehow.
They would ban Salt-Cure claiming his broken move is the issue. This would contradict their ban of cyclizar for the same reason but why would they care. Hyper offense simply can't exist. if you promote hyper offense in anyway even if you are 25 in usage out of 30 or so OU mons you are getting quick banned in their mind.

Also just so this isn't a shitpost, I've found that a lot of slower teams just kind of eat shit into NP Tera Fighting Gholdengo. You don't even need Focus Blast, just Tera Fighting with NP/STABS/Recover. You sit on Clod and you can just fish for Shadow ball drops into everything. It's kind of stupid

It just means that it got enough usage in OU to become OU. Smogon is a usage based tiering system so the more a Pokemon is used, the higher tier it is. Conversely, the less it's used, the lower tiered it is. Once every 3 months (or month early on), a Pokemon's usage stats are pulled and looked at, and depending on if it hits a certain usage threshold, it can either remain in a tier or drop to a lower one

Sometimes, Pokemon in lower tiers get enough usage in higher tiers to "rise", like Hatterene

Enough people used Hat on their team that it is now "Over Used" and can only be used OU or higher formats. It's Smogons way of segregating mons so that there's a place for every shitmon to thrive.

my one niche for it is barely working anymore with how few dondozo teams are out there
i use it as an anti-dondozo, unless the dozo brings an unconventional addition to it's movepool, the clod could barely be touched. tera fairy, air balloon with water absorb made it so that he can't get his balloon popped, order up obviously does nothing because of the tera and earthquake can't land because of balloon. clod gets haze so can nullify commander and slowly whittle it down with toxic if you can get through the sub for just one turn.

I am in the process of building a team that I may want to use in the Florida regionals.

Rage Fist is slightly more balanced Last Respects on a more regular Pokemon. Anything that can easily get 200 BP with no drawbacks is inherently busted, even if tera helps it out.
Chi-Yu and Chien-Pao have effectively Tough Claws and Sheer Force respectfully while having good stats.
Cyclizar is has Baton Pass+Sub compressed into 1 move, and the only drawback Shed Tail has compared to that combo is negated by Regenerator.
Espratha, Garg, and Gold likely won't be banned.
Dragonite is really the only Pokemon who is broken with Tera. STAB Extreme Speed has always caused it trouble in various OMs, and it can Tera defensively while having Multiscale.

I don't think it's out of the question, and I tried searching for a solid answer but the website for some reason specifies Standard format for TCG, but doesn't specify the series for VGC.
I just sent an email to the tournament organizers so hopefully I'll find out soon.
Maybe this means all the work I've been trying to put into making a series 1 team won't go to waste though.
I have been trying Dondozo a lot but I'm not satisfied with his performance when pairing him with Tatsugiri. He honestly seems to be working just as good as just a regular bulky slow boy who can set up Yawn.
I really like Bulk Up Ceruledge and Weakness Policy Armarouge but I don't think they would both fit on the same team, especially since I also like my bulky Skeledirge, and still considering trick room Torkoal for this format too. I don't need all that fire on one team.
I'm much more excited to use Annihilape in this format too. I was thinking of Choice Scarf Annihilape previously, but Bulk Up Annihilape has been really messing me up recently so I want to try that set too.

Was thinking about giving it 236 Speed to be only 1 point faster than Gholdengo. 44 SpDef and Assault Vest to survive Specs Make it Rain by 2-3 HP, rest goes into Atk.

Chi-Yu and Ape basically became broken as fuck after those other quick banned mons were banned, so no surprise that they made the meta game unfun after the other mons that were making the metagame also unfun got banned while they remained. As for Cyclizar I have no idea how it wasn't initially quick banned like Bundle and Palafin were, its pretty obvious that Shed Tail on a pokemon that was fast and had a ton of supportive moves and had the ability that negates Shed Tail's downside wouldn't be fun to deal with.

I'm an Uberfag and I have been super busy with work that I've barely been paying attention to this Gen. I know that Rage Ape, Goldfish and Motorcycle have been banned. How good are they in this gen? From this Usage list >>52937744 (don't know how reliable this is since the bans were recent), it seem that Flutter Mane is the boss of this tier and Chi-Yu is catching up. (Probably because of Koraidon being the ultimate support for Flutter Mane that Chi-Yu is taking an advantage of the sun). Is there something else I'm missing or what?

Dodonzo+Garg is unbelievably good btw. Stick 4 offense mons (one of which is one of the Volcaronas, another one needs to be a ghost (for annoying grass types)), and you'll have ton of fun.

Ursaluna can mid ground it with Fire Punch, anyways the point is that Tangrowth or Tangela is a sitting duck in front of Ursaluna because it's slower and your whole idea is based on it being faster. It can at best wear it down if it has Rocky Helmet.

A full health Rocky Helmet Tangrowth switching on Earthquake with rocks up will die to Facade the next turn unless the Ursaluna is unlucky and gets minimum rolls both times.

Tangrowth isn't even in the game.

Is it just me or do people rage dc A LOT more in SV than they did in SS? Admittedly, I didn't get SS right away so I didn't start playing online until the around when the dlc came out, so maybe all the rage quitters burnt themselves out by then, but it seems like one in four games if I'm about to win my opponent dc's. Even worse, unlike SS, it doesn't get counted as a win; yes I even check back hours later. On Saturday night I played twelve games and in four of them my opponent dc'd, turning what should have been an 11 win 1 loss night into 7 wins, 1 loss. Last night I played five games and it was the same thing, 3 wins, 1 dc, 1 loss.

Nah, he's a shitter filter similar to gen4 Rotom. Trick scarf is the only way it can touch special walls and if it runs focus blast over recover it loses its longevity while any set without scarf gets rolled over by faster threats.

Those stats haven't updated yet. Ghold and tusk were at 45% is before the bans.

Ghold is easily at 60% usage atm and is enabling some of the most degerate stuff the tier has to offer and all its reliable counters were banned.
Just because a mon doesn't 6-0 you doesn't mean it isn't broken.

I think I'm done with Smogon and these people in the forum. Just banning Gen 9 mons because Game freak decided to nerf stall because that was Gen 8 all about. Knock off, toxic, scald, wish, protect. Congratulations anon. The game is now decided by speed ties and other haxs. The Meta is now completely dominated by Dragapult, Zeraora, Tapu Koko, Hawlucha, and everything else that’s fast because the defensive arche type that keeps these Pokemon in check are now absolute garbage. Slower offensive Pokemon like Great Tusk and Breloom fall in usage too since their appeal of breaking walls is gone and they are naturally checked by faster Pokemon archetype.
The game is now a Rock Rock Rock game with casino mechanics that more than ever before determine matches. And all because a Sea Urchin didn’t let you spam Close Combat or instantly sweep off 1 turn with Volcarona.

You do know that Arena Trap Dugtrio was a fucking stall staple for every gen it was in past 3, right? The ability for stall to trap and remove its scariest threats made it really, really good. Hell, it was the only reason Sun could really exist in BW (and by Sun I mean Sun Stall because Offensive Sun is bad)

I think random battles includes a ton of pokemon that aren't relevant for OU (or whatever tier you want to play) so if you have something in mind you want to play, you should just jump right in (if you build your own team, you'll probably struggle, so if you want to avoid that, you could use a sample team)

Don't forget Wide Guard and/or a Dark type. It's a powerful setup no doubt but not unbeatable, Armarouge is common enough that he'll want something that handles it anyway.

granted it was one of the only good special attackers so without the national dex but it's ability was just too centralizing in a meta where bringing blissey and still having to worry about getting shit on is beyond your average special strength. Dark/Fire was also decent coverage in this meta as well. It basically could get a Choice Specs boost without Specs whenever its ability activated and that's probably why it was banned.

The only downsides are getting a bit weaker to Valiant/Corv, but that's really it. It's been serving me really well to the point where I Tera it more than Dragonite

Thank God Tera didn't get banned as that would've been a seriously retarded move on Smogons part. Besides the fact that the popular builds stay predictable it opens up so much for so many mons it's like getting 18 shades of paint to coat every mon with at a whim.

Tera has genuinely been the best new gimmick so far, and I was certain that Z-Crystals wouldn't be topped. Glad they weren't banned since 99% of the time scouting it isn't actually difficult.

For that last part, I've actually been finding success in RU with something a bit unorthodox

Lilligant @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Tera Blast

You can replace Steel with anything really, but the basic jist is that you just flip the book on your normal checks and blow shit away with +1 Steel Tera Blast (or +1 non Tera'd Tera Blast)
