This includes their relation to the Latios the Soul Dew came from, because the original was simply "an ancestor" while the dub makes it specifically their father. Also Annie and Oakley belonging to Team Rocket.
There is no such subtext, the dub just fucked over the story by axing the setup that clearly explains there are more Latios around Altomare.
