>>52947692"Whiteness" is an unknown concept in the ancient world. "Whiteness" is a modern construct born out of colonialism, slavery and the 19th century. So there's no such thing as whiteness in the past. In fact white skin on a man was considered ugly because it indicated a weak and effeminate man. When the Spartan king Agesilaos II was campaigning in Asia Minor he had his Persian prisoners stripped naked to show his men their pale bodies as a means to show how weak they were, earlier his army almost melted away in fear at the sight of the Persian army which still instilled fear unto their enemies.
What you are asking is imposing a modern construct unto the past which doesn't work. Instead of race you find beliefs of climate change the way people look and their culture. The Greeks of the mainland viewed the Ionian Greeks and those living in the Near East with the same orientalists lense they viewed other people of the Near East like the Persians and Egyptians. Weak, effeminate, decadent, docile to name a few.
