Why can’t we have a main line pokemon game with traditional gameplay with above mediocre quality?

Why did normies have to latch onto pokemon so hard again? I liked it when it was big but not too big like in the gba to 3ds days, although the 3ds games were kinda mediocre they still were better than this crap people keep slurping up
