>>53022530>What the protagonist doesn't fully understand are his motivesI mean...okay, but it's not like the villain's motives being handwaved away makes it at all better? Cyrus barely is given any reason for his motivation anyway, other than the implication he was abused and lonely as a kid from his parents (which is also not something the protagonist has any reason to make up).
And then there are cases where we do understand the villain's motivation quite clearly, like Rose, who fully outlines it to another adult, Leon, and it's understood by all parties as retarded. Its a bit strange if a kid is just making up in their head "wow, this guy is saying to solve the energy crisis he's going to awaken this eldritch alien god even though its 2000 years away!"
>or is the protag exaggerating what happened? You...literally go into the underworld God's home dimension and capture it and the champion of the region and professor show up because of the spacetime distortions, and the area at Spear Pillar literally begins to distort with Cynthia even commenting on it. Yes, it's very fucking likely it did indeed happened. I say this again and again, but literally the only way it couldn't have is if its all a daydream (which is fucking lame) or the protagonist is just incredibly retarded.
I really don't even know what you're trying to say anymore other than just clinging to this dumb headcanon. Pokemon has bad writing, full stop. Dont try to justify it in any way
