Unironically without the amie buffs - most casuals wouldnt be able to beat BDSP E4 at all without heavy grinding or spamming a gazillion X items

They still should have made it so amie doesnt activate automatically just by playing (although the idea is probably that you rotate mons all the time with EXP share and the new ones start at 0 friendship)

As in, if you're a Timmy spamming your starters strongest move do you get more "luck" than a /vp/ autist eugenics enthusiast who EV trains an entire team of six that has full type coverage?

Yea I believe that, my eldest lad cried a few times while figuring out how to train to beat her but bragged about it for days when he finally did. (He used a Gengar with cursed body to disable the Garchomps EQ then revived it to exploit its low Special Defense.) Forced him to learn about how to plan to battle rather than just being stronger. His win definitely felt better to him than when I walked though her with a specially set up Togekiss.
Then again he also pissed his pants first time we beat bowser on Mario 3D World so don't want to give him too much credit, kek.

They really don't. At best the buff makes it even (which I'd argue isn't even the case), and even then the fact that you'll probably get 1-2 free sashes a battle at minimum is just too good. You have to go out of your way to make the battles challenging/interesting, amie just makes it unfun.

Not to mention you can get rid of friendship in BDSP by rotating mons
And in other games you will also get amie buffs if you do picnics and such (so you have to deliberately restrict yourself from a portion of the content)

You just outlined why this is a problem for BDSP ONLY. Other games don't fuck up the gameplay by forcing affection buffs, you have to intentionally do the friendship mechanic (picnic/camp bs).

The obvious flaw in your point is that people don't play like that. You want to know why ever since Gen 6 (when the exp share changes happened) people complained the games were easier than ever before and they were over leveled? Between this Champion battle, the friendship cheating mechanic you have to keep fighting off, and the forced EXP Share, it shows they really wanted this game to be an absolutely horrible experience for nuzloche players. That Garchomp alone will wreck practically any team unless you literally build yourself around it on purpose or go grind.

But we're giving OP advice on how to beat the first fight because he's a scrub. Later fights are different because you have access to the post game to boost your levels and get some new tools.

Couldn’t even beat that. I hardcore nuzlocked a Cynthia that can randomly pick between 4 teams, featuring techniccian roserade, fairy togekiss, Clefable, milotic, and Mismagius, adaptability lucario, staraptor, buffed dragon Ampharos, and Extremespeed Garchomp. Have not done the rematch because I never do post game, but the rematch has a rayquaza.

Making a not Cynthia team for a random rocket grunt in my heart gold rom hack. She basically uses Clefable and roserade to barf out hazards and powders. Bright powder ESpeed Garchomp and adaptability lucario do the rest of the work. She also has togekiss and pseudo legendary lapras to put in some more work.
