To this day, PLA is the ONLY mainline game where all available Pokémon can be caught on a single trainer ID. I remember starting another save, thinking I would transfer starters once Home was available, but then I realized I could get them in my first save. Thought the same thing about the odds of finding fossil mons and STD mons, but no, I was able to find them all too.
It is also the best game for shiny hunting. The charm is basically impossible to get on multiple saves for the average person, but it is totally worth it. The sound and star visual make sense lore wise because your character has been studying Pokémon in the wild in great detail. From a lore perspective, you would naturally recognize more shiny Pokémon after studying them intensely to fill out all the dex entries.
Oh, and to top it all off, the cinematic cut scenes were all on point.
