Where is all the hype for a new Mystery Dungeon game? I am very excited to get to share an Explorers of Sky remake with me friends who never played the original. I believe we’ll get it Monday! Would also be cool with a new mystery dungeon game.

if we get a remake, it'll be a disaster since explorers is held in infinitely higher regard then rt

if we get a new game, we risk it being mid and turning the series into a bad direction

if we don't get anything we'll go back to coping like usual and we'll get sad and lose hope

It will obviously have Mimikyu and UBs so that's a win in my book.

In no reality is that true. The simple fact of Pokemon not being on cooldown in Rescue Team makes it far superior. Not to mention a better story, and a better soundtrack.

SMD has the worst story, the worst characters, the shitty emera system, cool down, postgame is an unbearable slog.
It's the worst game in the franchise by far, worse than Gates by a long shot. If the next game follows the same downward trajectory since Gates and is even worse than Super this franchise deserves to die

gates is by no means good, but it's definitely better than super by virtue of actually being a cohesive game that doesn't actively punish the player for trying to engage with its systems.

RT’s postgame is constantly giving the player new things to do, introducing more mechanics and dungeons, and getting all icons is a fun accomplishment
Super just has the subplot of getting the partner back and then says “I guess go 100% the game”

Not to mention 100%ing Super is fucking horrible and takes five times the time to run through the same boring easy dungeons with barely any variance over and over to recruit all 649 Pokemon as opposed to RT's 386.

Honestly that wasn't even as insulting as just lifting characters from past games and dropping them in, calling them a different Pokemon and hoping you wouldn't notice. It's so obvious Ampharos is Wigglytuff, Dark Matter is Bittercold, etc. The latter doesn't even make any fucking sense because everyone in Super PMD is extremely friendly and barely anyone has bad feelings toward each other whereas Gates did, so reusing the same villain is doubly retarded
