It feels like with the switch gens there was a very noticeable drop in quality of new mon designs
Even XY and SM had a bunch of good designs if we ignore incineroar and delphox
In the old gens, about 4/5ths of the dex had great designs, now its about half to 1/3
and hell I'm saying this as someone who started with gen 5, I'm not even nostalgic for the old gens but their pokemon output is much better
