they arent good games, it's just the switch is really *that* popular so the games sell big numbers from simply being pokemon games

im literally 20 years old.
all of my friends that have switches own at least 2 of the 4 switch games released so far. none of them are really pokemon fans, they just bought em bc everyone else was buying them

At some point, you're going to have to accept the changes to the rote formula of the games was what led to an increase in sales, because that's what the sales data alongside the hardware sales indicates. Switch selling is only part of the equation (because DS conquered all before it yet Pokémon couldn't trouble the traditional High Water marks it had previously set), the games have to let normies buy them without feeling like they're playing a baby series like when on the handhelds.
