It's lowest effort pandering to the LGBT to try and earn their favor, even though the "types" are still referred to by the expected pronouns of the gender they actually are because they're nothing more than a single instance of renaming a label on the initial character creation menus.
So if you pick "type A" and subsequently customize them to look like a girl, characters will STILL refer to you as a boy.
But because Pokemon is a do no wrong franchise, somehow the trannies haven't gotten upset with Nintendo, GameFreak, TPC or TPCi about this laziness that Pokemon puts into its so-called pandering.
