Braixen, Incineroar, Cinderace, Meowscarada, etc... are made intentionally for the furry audience because Gamefreak realized that most buyers don't play the games, but rather jerk off to the creatures (and the characters), and they knew they would give them enough exposure and marketing on twitter FOR FREE.
Ivysaur not being a furbait still stood the test of time and remained popular even if modestly, especially since it was always overshadowed by Bulbasaur.
Now look at how Incineroar and Cinderace got replaced by Meowscarada. We used to get a lot of coomer threads for them but coomers stop giving a fuck when they find a new material, because that was their purpose. flavor of the gen furbait.
Sure, they still have fans, but they aren't as passionate as before.
