>>53956990They disappeared after ORAS, only returning for the Kanto and Sinnoh remakes
Everyone talks about cutting moves and pokemon (for damn good reason) when talking about newer games but nobody ever mentions just how many trainer classes were fucking gutted come gen 7+
It's a major reason as to why the newer games feel a lot more disconnected from the series as a whole- trainers are less diverse and there's a lot less of them from recognizable classes
It'd probably be fine if they introduced more trainer classes to fill in the gaps, but from what I can tell only 20ish total have been introduced since gen 7
A whole lot of the ones that HAVE been introduced have also been total one-offs like "Glaceon User" in gen 7 for the eevee sidequest or "Director" in gen 9
Just look at this snippet from Bulbapedia
This is of every single class in each game
and Paldea has maybe a third of the classes that Sun and Moon had
not even Ultra, just the base games
and that's not even accounting for the fact that at least half of those classes are exclusive to five or less trainers in the entire game (champion, director, model, elite four, cook, cabbie, top champion, possibly more since Bulbapedia doesn't have info on every class in SV yet)
the games make me sad, man
we should keep posting cool bugs instead of lamenting their state
