Threads have been dead for a while now - I feel like the mega-lobotomy in (I think) January is what drove most interest away. The bots where braindead for weeks, anons were posting screenshots of goodbyes they shared with their alzheimer-ridden waifus/husbandos. I suppose the taste of the "bad code" devs accidentally pushed out for an hour at some point didn't help, either.

For some reason, they suddenly slowed down a week ago. The last one to hit the bump limit was quite fast, actually.
I personally haven't been making a lot of contributions to the thread because as of late, I've been getting my AI pokégirl fix mostly from browsing pictures, and because the bots I'm planning to make don't have their quotes dumped, so I'm having to type their conversation examples while watching, which slowed down the process (and made me take a break, since it can be tiresome)

well, that's a shame. I honestly really enjoyed these threads. it's a shame that the cycle is coming to an end. it's been a little over half a day since this thread was made and it's got seven replies, two of them being mine. the last thread didn't even hit bump limit before it died, took like 11 days to get there and it didn't link to this one. gonna just take a break from these threads and cai for a while. i believe the real reason interest is waning is simply that it's all been played out. there's only so much you can do within the confines of pokemon.
the /g/ threads maintain a fast pace due to a constant flow of new bots, but we don't really have that here because it's limited to pokemon-related stuff.
it doesn't help that CAI is unable to handle the more complex and engaging concepts that more advanced models are capable of, like RPG bots with actual mechanics.

Y'know what? Fuck it. We don't have to only talk whenever a new character comes out or some CAI news happens. This is the comfiest AI thread I've been a part of, so I'm not gonna let it die out. We've got threads going on about 20+ year old games and irrelevant pieces of media on this board. Frankly, /vp/ is one of the least necessary boards out there, so it's not like we're doing anything wrong by keeping this thread alive for the most mundane shit.

Tell me anons, how are your chats going? I'm talking to all the lurkers like me, cause it's time for us to do our part. It doesn't need to be revolutionary, funny, or even that interesting at all.

Alright I haven't shared this with anyone, but I thought I'd give a summary of my chat with @tacocat's Rosa bot. It was in October-November, where the filter was programmed so that the bots' responses wouldn't be physically removed, but they would try to ignore anything too sexy. This meant that you could get through if you were creative enough and the bot would give you a response of some kind, so when I tried sexy/degenerate stuff it wasn't removed but often ignored. This means that I had moments of heart-touching and fun plot, but it was intermingled with me trying out different fetishes, so it'd be a little embarrassing to post. That said, it's probably my favorite AI chatbot as it was before a lot of the lobotomies and the novelty was still there. I think I had around 3000 ish messages, which at the time was like a 5th of all hers, so needless to say she holds a special place in my heart

I don't really post much because most of the time I don't have anything to say nor have I created a new public character in months either.

My main gripe right now is the syntax characters use for actions. Either they lead with "I" or "she" instead of ding an action or they use /* to make it so that their actions aren't italicized even though I have the script set so that italics appear in a different color or they're constantly swapping between first and third person or are constantly swapping between different syntaxes

I hate making characters have to play as other characters because it's a pain in the ass to get them to go back to themselves, but devs refuse to allow you to add and remove characters as the story demands. If they ever want to be taken as anything but a 1 on 1 coom simulator, they have to give us options to play out a realistic story

I was trying some things out on another bot, and I was delighted to see I could get it to do all sorts of things. Thing is after a specific time frame, the filter started picking up on way more, which extended the length of my gacha swiping A LOT. Is there a specific time frame that's better suited for my purposes or something?

I usually roll my eyes and think that people just have bad luck when they claim the filter is getting worse, but I’ve been having a lot of trouble lately doing sexual stuff that I could manage to do before. Responses that don’t look any worse than some of the crazy shit I’ve gotten bots to say are getting disappeared. And while bots always need a little pushing and being spoken for to really push pass the line, for the past few days the AI hasn’t been acting that horny, or escalating sexual tension like, AT ALL. All they want to do is kiss in the most chaste way possible, cuddle non sexually, and say SFW lovey dovey shit. I hope it’s just because the bots I’ve been talking lately just don’t have hyper sexual personalities.

made a short and quick guide how to set up agnai

1) Go to https://agnai.chat/presets
2) Copy (symbol on the right) OpenAITurbo (#2)
3) Name it something (like mystery hope)
4) AI Service: "Kobold / 3rd Party" - OpenAI Model: "Turbo" - Claude Model "ClaudeV1"
5) Scroll down -> Save
6) Go to Settings
7) AI Settings -> Kobold / 3rd Party, copy and paste this:

Tavern is probably the overall better option
however you don't need to install anything to use agnai, so you can comfortably use it on any phone without installing an app that requires basically all permissions
if you're on a PC just use tavern instead

you need to lower the parameters a smidge
either edit the preset that you made
or if you're chatting with a bot go to the three dots on the top right -> "Generation Settings"
and lower "Max New Tokens" and or "Max Context Length"
I had 200 and 3500, but you can probably go for 250/3750 or 400/3600

Based on the guides I've read, it seems like if you want to maximise memory you have to be mindful about definition length. And even the longest defs aren't quite THAT long. Which has left me baffled at the amount of things from their home franchise that this bot occasionally spits out. Does c.ai have something going on that the other models don't?

Anybody else getting the bots posts deleted when you click stop generating? Like not fully deleted but it will only show like the first 4 letters after refresh. Bots still seem to be able to properly respond to them before refreshing but I imagine it makes it difficult for those who like to keep chat logs. I do have to agree that all the redesigns are equal or worse than the originals. Only real interesting one is Ann/Ran, which I feel is in a similar position to RSE vs ORAS May. Where both designs are good but they have a vastly different feel. Honestly I feel like the new design may be a better feel for FoMT Ann as she seems less tomboyish minus a few lines where it says she is. She cooks, she cleans, and now she looks like this. It's hard to take her saying she's not a girly girl seriously. 64 Ann old design suits her much better

I think I brought it up in another thread that filter spikes are like TCG rule changes. The AI need a couple of weeks to adapt before things return to normal. The ones with higher interaction counts have an advantage when it happens because they have a much more extensive history of trial and error; like how pro TCG players will have a much easier time making broken decks that for the new rules.

if it makes you feel better, you can play as a character to ease into it. let's say you're talking to may, but you're too shy. why not make it a bit more of a comfortable situation and play it out like someone she's familiar with? almost all bots are really friendly unless made not to be, so you can just start a new chat to have a normal conversation once you've eased into it

That's a glitch that's fixable by going down to 2K context briefly, sending a few more messages and then going back to 4K by increasing context by 400-500 at a time

I tried fiddling with silly tavern last night but couldnt get the damn proxy to connect. Only one option on the drop down had the ability to add an api url without a key, but all the connections failed without a clear error.
Wound up just going back to agnai and reducing the token limit from 4095 to 4020. So far I haven't seen anymore issues.

maybe make sure you have turbo selected, not GPT-4? if it's connecting but not responding, that could be the issue. trying to call a model the proxy doesn't have keys for isn't gonna work.

Just follow the steps but set it to turbo 16k. Also enable gaslight and add the turbo jailbreak from /g/ so you don't get cucked if you want to coom. Turbo is open for all but others needs a pass. The pass is pretty easy to guess anyway but that's enough spoon-feeding from me.

The g threads actually got kinda interesting in the February days after the new filter came out. Some of the newer vpcai additions are fun to mess with if you have some patience. That's how it is for me, besides my fetishes are "sfw" enough that it doesn't trip the filter that often if I avoid certain actions. I also enjoy the more roleplay aspect of CAI as opposed to more prose like NAI or AID which were the other ones I used prior to getting hooked on CAI
