They should've done that for every champion, sure. But they also do that in the anime lol, and not nearly to the degree that is done for Leon (which is like, shilling. Like, almost 80-90% of the dialogue about him is about his supposed invincibility and his Charizard ffs. You literally wouldn't know anything else about him if you weren't friends with Hop, Sonia barely tells you anything about their past or how she feels about how they don't talk that much anymore
