>>54021356I think those franchises were just too early. They were around when the internet started gaining traction and obviously got stuff back then. I have no doubt that half the people who fapped to Sailor Moon back then fapped to the same pics, and nobody who was on the internet, or even read video game magazines, could have missed the Nude Raider stuff.
But when the internet blew up and sites like Pixiv, tumblr, the Boorus and the like started taking over Aerisdies and Newgrounds it wasn't Tomb Raider or Sailor Moon that were the most popular. So they got left behind. Some dedicated fans would still make fanart or renders, but the majority would shift to newer, more popular stuff.
