Why was there never a HD remaster of the Pokemon anime?

For how enormously successful it is, strange that all that exists is DVD quality 640x480.

Also what's up with troons being in the latest Pokemon game?

Japan hasn't even done regular home releases of the anime since the early gen 2 days, only rental DVDs, reruns on dedicated cartoon rerun satellite channels, and, as of gen 6, online streaming. But it just isn't the kind of series that people are dying to buy and own, it's way too long and way too focused on being an advertisement for the currently most recent games. The hyper autistic "everything that isn't those 100 Ash/Misty/Brock episodes I saw when I was 8 isn't REAL Pokemon" nostalgiatards don't really exist in Japan either.
