I have a little issue with Tackle nerf but it's part of a bigger issue with how starters and early game have been handled starting in Gen 5 (but not in Gen 6, probably because the negative initial reception of Gen 5) and going on the later generations.

Overall yeah but in certain challenge runs that restrict the use of TMs it might matter. Lillipup in Gen 5 for example hits like a truck using Tackle and neither the starters or any other early route mon will be able to outpace it when it comes to damage until 10's.

Taking away Scald from most pokemon is justified because logically, not all pokemon have the ability to heat water to boiling point in their body in the first place. Giving Scald to most water types were the actual weird move and I'm sure they regretted doing it enough to backtrack a few gens later.

no it really isn't. you can't just look at the type chart and go "it's unbalanced"
look at Blissey for example. it doesn't resist Water and it's not immune to burns, but it's Special Defense is so high that it doesn't care about Scald damage and it also has Natural Cure. you have to also look at a pokemon's stats and abilities and not just the type chart

honestly just any mon losing moves from older gens like if the move no longer exists fine but if you have a old game then you should still have access to those moves if they're still in the game(except toxic that made sense to remove from a few mons)

The only Fire type attack that has a similar burn chance to Scald is Flame whell a 60 bp move.
Honestly i hope they bump Flame wheel to 80bp and distribute Fire Lash more widely.

There are many ways to nerf it. Decrease its power, lower the chance for burn to 20%, buff Chilling Water's damage to 80, or hell actually fucking commit to how statuses worked in Legends Arceus. It's so crazy how they do the worst of both worlds approach and then say "oops, we're bringing it back!" so the whole problem is left untouched. Scald needed a nerf, and they botched it then said "nvm lol"

This. Removing moves altogether instead of just reinvigorating them with revamps is the biggest crime. The best approach is always to just constantly tweak everything rather than just erase it from existence. It helps with variety, keeps things feeling fresh without feeling cluttered, and old Pokemon don't get screwed over by way of being unintended victims

Because they decided Eevee was the secondary mascot so now it has to be braindead easy to use. It and Scald should be cut back even more. If it isnt a poison type it shouldnt know toxic, and if it isnt emboar/volcanion/walking wake it shouldnt know scald.

As for Toxic, I'm still not a believer in the cut. I get Toxic + Protect sets can be hyper aids but all this does is buff stall by limiting who can apply a timer to walls. T-Spikes are so piss easy to remove/avoid it's almost pointless unless they're a low elo shitter who doesn't run HDB on stall teams. I mean honestly, I'd bet money they only nerfed Toxic because they're autistically set on the 20 minute timer.

Yeah, instead of giving Meowscarada a hidden ability that makes sense, I don’t know like Magic Bounce or something to fit the whole magician theme, they give it Protean and figure it’s be too broken with old Protean so they nerfed it in the ground to the point where it legitimately uses Overgrowt on some sets.

its that simple. Strong offense breaks through stall. Im not saying OHKO should be everywhere, but a good chunk of mons should be able to 2hko most stallmons. Really burn through those limited (a good thing btw) recovers.
