Gen IV's trainer overworld sprites are better than Gen V's.
The grass should also be a little more saturated, and the river water should be a fair bit lighter (it's too shallow to look that deep blue).
I'm otherwise pleasantly surprised by how much better it looks. I'd love to see a remaster of Platinum using Unova's assets and camera angle.

This. If I'm yearning for Kanto or Johto I can just play one of the remakes. Emerald, HGSS, Platinum and BW2 mog everything that came out on the 3DS and beyond.

Unova derangement syndrome truly runs rampant on /vp/. That said, this is all silver age. Golden Age was Gen 1 and 2 and any retard who pretends Gen 3+ wasn't just needless bloating of additional subsystems is kidding themselves, the most they've ever done is try to improve the extra garbage systems they introduced to this kids franchise. Bronze age is Gen 6 and 7. Gen 8 and onward don't exist.
