Galar colonized unova, the unovan kings were dark skinned like Iris/Alder. I feel like this is implied but gamefreak didn't wanna deal with the implications of writing colonization into their game.

Team Rocket employs children since you can disguise yourself as one of them and they don't seem to really question it. It would make sense since they're criminals and children seem to have more "adult" rights in the Pokèworld like the ability to gamble or travel unsupervised.

Pokemon can only vocalize their name (or appropriate animal noises), but Trainers get better at understanding them with experience - if you're just starting out, you'll probably only pick up on charades-like communication, but after years with your Pokemon, you can hold full conversations with them - and possibly with Pokemon you haven't trained, too.

In the non mega timeline, Cynthia died because she was cornered by a vengeful team plasma grunt after the events of bw2, and was successfully ambushed and eaten by her Seviper. The only thing they were ever able to find of her next to some disturbed earth near some ruins was her shoes and torn necklace, even her pokemon were successfully stolen from her.

The regions from the first 4 gens are regions of Japan just like their irl inspirations. Unova and Alola are states of America. Galar, Kalos and Paldea are countries.

Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Gold, and Silver all have those colors as their eye color, and Brendan and May have red (ruby) and blue (sapphire).
You could probably continue the pattern to gen 4, but it gets a bit weird after that up until gen 9.
