I would disagree in calling it odd, I would just call it bad. I'm glad Gen 9 only gave us Clodsire, which is fine because Quagsire exists. Exclusive regional evolutions are fine so long as the original also has something.

ok heres my thoughts on furry pokemon. gen 3. it had gardevoir. (no i dont want a discussion about it being humanoid cause i know that. it still has fluffy ears and it shows they wanted to make pokemon into creatures that can appeal to weebs eyes because they look like pretty girls in some way.) yeah it also had blaziken which is literally an anthro starter but i dont think it was supposed to have any sexual furry appeal at that point. just like mewtwo or machamp. gardevoir is the only one where i can say it was supposed to appeal to weebs that love anime girls. i think thats how they started making literal furry designs (knowing it will be popular with furries and kids?) and not just anthros without that thought behind it. they already started making anthros and pokemon that were supposed to appeal to men in that "pretty" way. all they did was combine them. of course kids seem to like the furry anthro thing too so it was perfect for them to even make them starters. not saying that the super masculine bara ones arent furry as well. they just started going for both bara and feminine designs in that way. at least thats why i think we went from jynx to gardevoir to tsareena. why we got stuff like salazzle or weed cat. i dont know if its true but i just got this impression over time.
