Pokemon designs have been shit ever since gen 6. part of the reason for this is that gamefreak constantly uses older pokemon as a crutch to make """""new""""". it feels very apparent in kalos because it introduced only 72 new pokemon and then they make about 30 or 40 rehashes of older pokemon. look at how lazy sharpedo is for example. all they did was slap random ugly yellow shapes all over it. this is what most mega evolutions are like
