“Don’t feed the trolls” is about as effective as “just ignore the bullies and they go away”. There’s zero evidence that it ever worked in the first place, but people don’t wanna admit that their “perfect solution” didn’t actually do shit, so they just pretend that it still works so they can stop trying to solve the problem.
