What nitpick do you have for a pokemon design that you otherwise like? I wish the leave bush thing on it's head was much bigger.

Probably my favorite Poison type in the series (in the running with Toxicroak and Revavroom) but I think the feet look kinda stupid and pointless. They either should've kept it feetless like Zubat or developed the legs Golbat had more, as is it feels like a design trait that a hypothetical mide-evo between those two would have and is really out of place on what's supposed to be the final stage

Mega Swampert in the Anime fills the orange padding with air to enhance its Punches. So if that in anyway translates to vanilla swampert, I would assume they are some sort of air bladders that help it control its buoyancy in the water.
