The little black dress should be cute, but for an endgame trainer who's presumed to be an elite, cunning, experienced, professional trainer, it's... kind of an odd look. It's the outfit for a much younger person going clubbing, not for a boss. It would've been fine if she was just a mid-game gym leader, I think.
The redesign doesn't really look like... anything, really. Sugimori clearly had a particular outfit one his mind when designing the HG/SS ladies because he put Sabrina in pretty much the same outfit. (tight white pants, colorful crop top, hair down) To be clear, I like this outfit too, but this looks even less like what a dark specialist should be wearing.
