I've been trying this out since I haven't played a Pokémon game since GSC and it feels incredibly dumbed down. I don't expect much from Pokémon but the tone and the level of handholding makes the whole thing feel like it's aimed at actual toddlers. Even the plot has sort of lost me, I'm meant to be researching "mega evolutions" or something? Am I even doing the gym challenge? I don't know and I don't care.

Are the newer games like this?
