You should kill yourself for posting a frog, but I agree.

Sword and Shield visuals were shit on for stuff like the trees, but the actual battles had the nicest looking and stylised models. While some individual mons in SV look nice with their textures, the overall artstyle suffers compared to pic related.

The DS games are just an objective improvement in spritework over Gen 3. The GB games at least have real charm in its simplicity.
Despite all that, you're probably right as Gen 3's artstyle has been the basis for so much fan content throughout the years (animations, custom maps, browser games)

The 3D looks great on the original DS screen, or rendered at a high resolution using emulation for higher resolution displays. It looks ugly on 3DS and on emulators who only render at 1x.

that's subjective, the ds games have smaller pixels (higher res) but the gba games are a bit more blocky which can have its charm. I mean if you compare an npc from gba to one from ds, the gba one looks fatter. it's really not the same. in a way it's like the jump from gbc to gba where there's even less to the imagination, or just more detail presented.

basically what I mean is I love gen 1/2 graphics, gen 3 are eh to me, I didn't like them when I first saw them but I realize a lot of people seem to love them and they kind of grow on you, then I really don't like gen 4 because of the shitty looking 3d houses etc and because it's an extension of the gen 3 graphics when I already didn't love the direction they went in with that. gen 5 is kinda cool but in a cool fan game sort of way, I wouldn't prefer that to be the style.

Battle Revolution looks like shit and no amount of "bro when Spinda uses moves they go everywhere cause it tracks" bullshit will make you right about this. BR has zero consistent style with realistically textured locations but extremely stylised proportions that look god awful. The models look shit too but that's just because the Wii hardware sucked cock. There's zero situations where it actually looks better than Sword and Shield.

I unironically don't even record my battles in SV cuz they look fucking boring compared to my good clips from SWSH

SWSH was frankly lots of fun to me, yeah the single player campaign was piss easy but it was piss easy for me since Ruby Sapphire since that was when I got to the "i know how pokemon works and now everything gets raped on the spot" age.
