Because playing old gens competitively is like assuming that you are a fag that is too slow to catch a brim of what's going on these days.
For every other eSport, you don't have that chance. There's no such a thing as a classic LOL, an standalone Fortnite chapter 1 mode, and you can't even play CSGO or Overwatch 1 anymore. The landscape of eSports is always changing, you are the one that has to get updated.
