Additional content with dlc cannot fix certain issues with the base game like the quality of the main campaign. But here's the perfect compromise

> the next year they make DLC for $35
> A year or two after that a third game gets released by a few Gamefreak staff but also an outside studio
> Third version has the full National Dex, all the DLC content and more content on top of main campaign fixes
The corporations get even more money and the people willing to wait get the best game possible,
