The mario remake didn't skimp on the details and added more to the original to make the whole thing feel more complete, the little character intro cutscenes as well as the triple tech combo moves are good and cool, you can get the full experience playing the smrpg remake that you would playing the original
BDSP is reviled because they remade DP instead of Pt for some reason, not giving the players the full sinnoh experience people were hoping for, on top of that they also gutted the underground secret bases, effectively removed contests from the game, removed the GTS, added forced EXP all and friendship bonuses that weren't present in the original, and to top it all off, the presentation was horrible.
So, if people want the full Sinnoh story experience, they're still better off playing Platinum, which has objectively more content and will give players a more challenging experience, on top of having a better Pokedex distribution than BDSP, who just sticks whatever the fuck in the Grand Underground, letting you get stuff like Absol right after Gardenia.
The final nail in the coffin is that, as
>>54935038 said, DP were really not very good games, it took Pt to fix a lot of their issues, from story to presentation to just the whole experience overall. BDSP making people go back to OG DP highlights just how bad the original games were, meanwhile OG SMRPG is still good and playable today.
>>54935088>>54935051I forgot about this part, the term "faithful remake" was literally coined over BDSP, but BDSP isn't actually faithful, they did the bare minimum and cut all the things that would actually take effort to bring to 3D like the Contests or Battle Frontier. They cut as many corners as possible and marketed it as a 1:1 remake to justify how lacking the game was.
