I agree, I don't think the anime is very good. The world has so much potential for fun and cool stories and battles and discovery yet they don't do much with it at all and play it safe.
But also it's the only anime I can stomach this year, I dropped everything else. There's just something light about it and I look forward to it every week. Still, I hope that when it's finished they start over with mostly new characters and try something else again and see what sticks.

Even that slop was more enjoyable and fun than anything we got from this "Eureka Eleven" rip-off. Lots of funny moment and Goh actually develop fast enough to battle on his own and even evolved his starters.

While it been 33 episode and the only progress Liko & Roy made was scratching a Pokemon's butt, quite literally!

Not sure who that person you're talking about is but I'm someone that rarely posts and I'm genuinely not enjoying this show much. The story isn't interesting (looking for 5 random ass giant Pokemon) and the battles are subpar. Sprigatitio is either one shotting a grown Golduck or it's having a lousy double battle with Fuecoco against something it has no chance against.

On top of that, there isnt much in growth when it comes to catching new Pokemon or battles. Also all the side characters on the ship are completely boring and one-note. Dot had potential as a new main but she seems to be relegated to side character again.

I don't care much if I'm disregarded as some other person that also has an issue with the show but that aside. The series also had a simple and straightforward plot.

Main character travels from gym to gym, catches new Pokemon along the way and gets stronger, challenges league at the end. There's no such streamlined growth to be seen here. We can't tell how much better Riko and Roy are getting. They're absolute amateurs that barely get the concept of battling and they're unlike Ash who trains to beat other people.

Characters like Roy and Goh who have an impossible task aren't enjoyable or interesting to watch. Ash beating a league was never an impossible goal to set, catching a Mew or a Rayquaza is. And I also don't care if they do or don't.

Currently hitting up a few Pokespe chapters after seeing the mix up in the current program.

From Chapter 18 of the first arc
Red and Blue getting their teams swapped up is honestly a god brilliant narrative tool. Seeing both of them going over their quirks with their methods and influencing each other's team was something I felt could've been applied more frequently in the anime outside of maybe getting inspired for a custom move or just learning a move from someone else. The best examples of one trainer being stuck with the pokemon of another trainer that is not traded were when the groups sometimes got mixed up with the TRio members in a forest during an filler or some sorts.

If only Executive realized that when Goh & Project Mew flopped. Most people barely cares about Mew so why would they care about some random kid dream of catching it? Maybe Goh was a relatable and likable character than people would have cheer for him but the first episode pretty much showcase him as an overconfident egoistical Know-it-all with a superiority complex to the point most people just wanted to watch him to get cucked from Mew instead of rooting for him.

Liko and Roy suffers from similar problem since hardly anybody gives a dam about Liko finding her dream. Roy catching Rayquaza and their search for Rakua.

Not really. Most of the "growth" was conjecture. Only evolution or learning a new move was actually observable growth. The gym leaders didn't get harder as time went on, with few exceptions. I know it's kind of a meme that Ash was holding back all of his companions, but if you take what the anime says at face value, it's pretty true. May's the best example: She definitely develops while traveling with Ash, but after she defeats her rival, she loses a pretty crushing defeat in the Kanto Grand Festival because she learned to battle exclusively from Ash. Her continuing growth would only come by leaving Ash and traveling on her own. You can apply this to most of the companions:

Dawn and Ash help each other the most. they both gave each other ideas and helped when needed or not. I think that if they continued traveling with each other they both would continue to grow. together. we see that neither grew without the other after leaving.(ash not for a long time)

Brock, i think only found his goal while traveling. he would not have found it while staying at his gym. i belive that him traveling(mainly DP) is the only reason he is now able to do what he wants.

Despite having Horizons in the list this time, it still lost to Curious George, a literal toddler show. But it's not a surprise, because kids can learn something (life skills that can be applied to real life, learn on subjects such as Math) from Curious George over Horizons. It seems that Horizons isn't that well favored anymore in Japan's Kanto region (the people who watched it via television), not sure about the other regions though.

Actually looking forward to the two week break. I haven't been able to watch the past two episodes because other country's internet isn't great and either torrenting or streaming isn't an option here. It seems like the next episode will be a good breaking point for the anime too.

Don't you watch the show? Kleavor is one of six Ancient Hero that RVT searching for and they does not know much about Kleavor outside of it being a Pokemon from Hisui which is modern Sinnoh. However since wild Kleavor can only be found on Terranium from Blueberry Academy in modern days so this is first place RVT should go to look for Lucius's Kleavor or atleast learn about it. Who knows, maybe Lucius Kleavor moved to Terrarium & chilling there instead of being pirates.
