Turo/Sada made the time machine after seeing the pokemon in area zero, but those pokemon were only there thanks to a time machine that they themselves would create.

I used to think it was imagination but I was also open to being wrong so its no skin off my bones. The only thing the dlc tells me is that the paradox Pokemon and their worlds are actually real and that the AI professors really did get their happy ending.

I think it's supposed to be hinted that terapagos does it, but since it's never actually said I think it was purposely left ambiguous so fans could speculate about it. Apparently imagination theory was a thing in japan, so Game Freak might have changed the story after seeing how popular debating about the story was. I heard there was cut content regarding Heath in the dlc, so while crazy I don't think it's entirely impossible,

Terapagos's power is to bring dreams into physical reality, which is also how something like tera typing works. So it's kinda imagination theory, but not quite. The paradoxmons are summoned from thoughts and dreams, but those dreams are legitimate windows into the worlds those mons originate from.

Gen 5 remakes aren't happening until Gen 10, like they wait for the release of a new console to release a new core remake since GBA. Wishing on a star won't change that. that doesn't earn Game Freak an easy 600m for barely a year's work (like LGPE did 6 weeks after launch for 17 months dev time). This is what you're up against. They're not skipping shit, if they can re-package it and sell it to retard kids who've never played it (I didn't buy FRLG, but cunts who did still helped drive it to 12m copies sold).

There's a whole scene where you dream about contacting another world's professor. That's Entralink. And Terapagos was also related to the base game by virtue of that same scene. We also know Heath dreamed of meeting someone and woke up with physical proof of that dream meeting, just like the protag did. It's fucking Entralink, and Terapagos can conjure the things people see in those dreams.

That's... not a dream. This is a game for 7 year olds, you dumb fuck. The story refers back to the one told in the base game (which was also time-related) and closes the loop, explaining how the professor managed to get their machine working. Doesn't matter if that prof is a different timeline, we time travelled to see them, never mind OUR professor got their machine working in the end. If we didn't travel to our Prof, an alt universe MC DID travel (this was hinted at when Terapagos recognises the player - it sees all timelines, so had already seen the one where he lived with us after the AZ events), because we go back down to their research station, we find a note saying they got a book off a kid. The whole thing was never MEANT to explain the paradoxes spawned, they wouldn't be paradoxes but events with a definitive start and end point to them, something the story just doesn't or want to support. Fuck off and huff paint elsewhere, this isn't a street corner, even if it is a digital public space.

A different universe has fundamental laws that make it different, not just the events in it.

In the flash show the characters from other universes are "immune" to all the timeline fuckups on the main one.
So in one instance they visit, see everything changed and ask what the fuck is going on, but for the main characters there's nothing special because nothing changed from their perspective.

It's the exact wording used elsewhere in the game. In either case of "timeline" or "timelines" the professor still believes that the Pokemon from the book actually come from different times.
The only place that could possibly come from is Occulture, which is where the ones we catch are based off of. Otherwise we would only have Walking Wake and Iron Boulder.

The real professor and the fake professor say the exact same thing in Japanese, which more or less translates to “different points on the time axis” in context but can easily be misconstrued to mean “different timelines” in a vacuum. Considering what the two professors say is identical and the fake professor still refers to them as ancient/future pokemon and Cyclizar’s ancestor/descendant, it’s clear that the translation of “different points in time” is the correct one and the DLC fucked it up.

You see how different characters have different views of what their treasure or dream is and what they want to do to achieve it. Terapagos being the ultimate treasure of the game is able to turn your dreams into reality. Terastallization is btw a Pokémon turning into the type they wish they could be which is why by default they are the same as their base types because changing your dream is a life changing decision and why only the ones affected more directly by Terapagos are able to have different type Tera types without the direct involvement of the player.

How is the latter groundbreaking at all? The professor wanted to see Pokemon related to the book and they did, fulfilling their dream in doing so. If nothing else, the fact the DLC paradoxes aren't even in the book should be the final nail in the coffin for timefags.

The issue is still that if this was the professor who actually came from the past, then he/she would be creating a plot hole for handing us his/her book - that book that was instrumental to stopping his/her rampage with the time machine later on. This alone would seriously mess with the argument that Terapagos is actually causing time travel shenanigans, as that would invalidate the entire main story's events.

If this is an alternative timeline (which probably causes the hapless Paldeans in their timeline to be screwed by an army of Paradox Pokemon) then sure but that complicates the page depicting the professor receiving the White Book (Treasures of Area Zero) clearly depicting him/her meeting you back then.

The Imagination/Dream Theory would still stand, were the professor created is a result of you or the Don you own wanted to see the professor again (as per the Don's reaction when it saw the professor coming back to life again), but again that also poorly explains the last page.

Overall I felt the ending (like the DLC itself) was horribly rushed, possibly with a last second change intended to keep the actual workings of Terapagos a mystery instead of explaining it straight for reasons unknown.

If they really are keen in the time paradox explanation then it's a stupid way to do it IMHO.

From what I understand, it looks at your imagination and then looks nearby parallel dimensions across their entire timeline and just takes out the closest thing it can find. So I would argue while it functions like. TARDIS, it only knows where to 'look' based on the person's imagination, as once you create something or dream it, it means that it exists, somewhere, in some dimension.

Discworld books, funnily enough, where the world is carried on the back of a giant turtle, hold that belief is what causes gods, supernatural forces, and basically everything that exists, to exist. The best example is Death, who appears as a stereotypical grim reaper, and looks like that because that's how the denizens of the Disc believe that's how a personification of Death -should- look.

So it's a bit of both?

If a time machine works in the present it means it connects to the past and the future as well. I would assume that the Time Machine can also send future Pokémon backwards, especially if an upgraded Time Machine exists in the future.

Okay, I've been reading these threads for two days now, and the conclusion is one: the devs fucked up.

The timetravel theory seems to be true, indicated by translation errors and the scene at the Crystal Pool trying to be the closure of Heath's vision story.

BUT there is the problem of the double copy of Scarlet/Violet Book in the present (one in Zero Lab, one in our inventory) and its disappearance in the past. Also, caveman Magneton makes no sense ;)

Entralink theory seems almost a complete explanation, but let's face it, it's too complicated and too far-fetched for a game for seven-year-olds. There is also a problem with the question - if the White Book is now in the hands of a professor from an alternate timeline, where did the one written about in the diary come from?

I was hoping the DLC to shed some light on the whole issue, and it turns out that because of this whole book swap scene it has caused even more confusion. Good job, Game Freak.
I still have hope there will be an additional clues in the epilogue, but it seems it's just all meant to be a stretched-out paradox mumbo jumbo and we have to just chew on it.

I’d say time travel wins in the debate.
The wording itself covers both traveling one timeline and multiple ones(alternate timelines).
There’s too much wording for it between English and Japanese versions.

It's nothing about the actual book though. It's a chip they imbedded inside it, presumably not prior to meeting you in Kitakami because it logically was made when the Time Machine was made. I still don't see anything that indicates they don't go down the same road. It's just that we get to see them before they made their choice.

I think the implication that they goe home to read the book leads to believe that in this new timeline the professor would be far more attached to their family and not let their research consume them
