Anybody else do a double take when they see this thing?
I forget it's a pokemon sometimes.
Like obviously I don't FORGET about pikachu, but he has such an iconic status at this point I consider him like a Nintendo mascot like Mario or Link.
Seeing him next to my gargancl or even a much older pokemon like a wooper is so jarring. It's like seeing kirby out in the wild. It's weird. despite how much I "engage" with the pokemon franchise (obviously I'm here) I RARELY ever think about this thing, yet it's one of the first things boomers or normalfags thing of when they hear pokemon.
I think the brand recognition is too big for pikachu's own good.
